It has been a lot longer since I wrote a post than I thought! I could blame the end of spring semester being crazy, but that’s only a partial excuse. Really the problem is sorting through all the information I’ve learned lately, all the thoughts about what’s going on in the world, and the extreme difficulty I have making concrete plans for the future. (That’s a Sagittarius thing, what can I say?) Also having taken a trip recently to Arizona, I am literally up to my eyeballs in photos. I want to invent a photo assistant robot, to edit and post them all for me! Unfortunately, it’s just me whittling away at the backlog of…I won’t say how many unedited shots are sitting on my drive right now. I have slowly made some progress though, and am scouting out publications I can submit them to. Short stories too, and poems, and articles… In the meantime, I really love the rich contrast that Fujifilm’s Velvia film simulation gives to these desert landscapes. As close as I can imagine getting, in fact, to how the scene looked in real life. I got to see some natural wonders that are truly larger than life in their colors and scope, and I feel I didn’t even halfway do them justice. It was a bit of a learning curve shooting landscapes and terrain that is so far beyond what you are used to, but I enjoyed every minute. One day maybe I can return to these places with more time to explore them.
