2017 was a difficult year for many. For me it was also incredibly transformative, and I feel actually quite hopeful for what 2018 will hold. I began taking classes this fall at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, toward a bachelor’s in Environmental Studies. Hence why I have not been very faithful about writing posts, and I may be even busier in 2018. However, I am looking forward to the new challenges of this year.
For a good way to start off the year, I published three experimental photos in a vintage style with Angry Old Man Magazine, which you can see here. The featured image is not one of the three, but is in a similar style. I used my Fuji X-Pro2 and adapted Takumar film lens, with the camera set to record in square format and with an added “toy camera” filter for a nostalgic effect. The resulting sepia tone works quite well with the pieces of paper I used as props.
I wish you a creative, hopeful, heartening journey through this new year!
